11 Bollywood Movies Are A Part Of Oscars Library!

Getting nominated for the Oscars is a victory in itself for most. Oscars are the biggest and the most decorated awards for the films in the world. Bollywood has now gained speed and respect across the globe with every passing movie. These Bollywood scripts were a part of the Oscar Library. The Academy invites the filmmakers to send their script, which then becomes a part of the library.

These Bollywood movies are a part of the Oscar Library:

1) Devdas:

Off course the story, star cast, music, script, dialogues and the direction was very much appreciated globally. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s finest till now is ‘Devdas’.

2) Raajneeti:

This has been one hell of a movie, directed by Prakash Jha and a changing point in some many artists’ careers. ‘Raajneeti’ had that all drama, politics, family, action and a lot more. It was that year’s one of the most watched movies.

3) Rock On:

‘Farhan Akhtar’s one of the finest performances till now the movie is a part of the Oscars library. The songs of the first part are still remembered a lot.

4) Chak De! India:

Shahrukh Khan’s one of the finest movies in his entire career, the movie revolves around a coach who is all set to train the Indian National Women’s Hockey Team. Chak De! India was a super hit commercially and critically.

5) Baby:

Neeraj Pandey’s debut movie as a director and with an amazingly talented star cast, the theme of the movie revolves around an organization called, ‘Baby’ that fights the terrorists at any cost for the protection of the country.

Here is what the director had to say about the script of the movie at the Oscars Library, “The true appreciation of the content is when it appeals universally. This is an honour for ‘Baby’ and I am happy that our film has been recognized in international non-diaspora markets as well.”

6) Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna:

The movie was made only with one outlook that it gives a new perspective to the Indian audiences and openly connects with the world audiences, as the theme of ‘extramarital affairs’ is very common everywhere. With actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta, Abhishek Bachchan and Kirron Kher, directed by Karan Johar, the movie received positive reviews everywhere.

7) Guzaarish:

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has put his heart into the movie and direction, as the movie deals with the subject of ‘Euthanasia’. Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play the lead roles. Globally the issue it deals with is very sensitive. The acting of both the actors was appreciated.

8) Salaam Namaste:

The movie was appreciated everywhere, personally, it was the script and acting of Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta which magnified the movie more. ‘Salaam Namaste’ makers were invited by the academy for the contribution of the script and screenplay of the movie in the library.

9) Kal Ho Naa Ho:

According to the Indian audiences and viewers, this is Shahrukh Khan’s, Saif Ali Khan’s and Preity Zinta’s best performances. Such was the impact of this emotional love story, revolving around the theme of life bigger than death that it made people weep. The Academy Awards team loved the script and screenplay of the movie that is why it is at the library.

10) Namastey London:

This was a love story with such a simple theme but the acting and outcome of the movie were extraordinary. Compelling work was done by Akshay Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, and Katrina Kaif. ‘Namastey London’ was directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.

Shah’s reaction about the selection was, “ We didn’t make any particular attempt to reach out to the library. But out of the blue, I received a call requesting for the script. They are now keeping track of what’s happening on the Indian Cinema Scene.”

11) Parched:

This movie is based on the lives of four women and how in their life they overcome their struggles, in the end, Directed by Leena Yadav, Parched was 2016’s most critically acclaimed movie in India.
