“Nisha memsahib is lying in a pool of blood in the compound!” The servant woman screamed. As soon as she completed her sentence, Karan fainted. Everyone at the party were shocked as if a bomb blasted at their feet.

Mohandas came out of his room on hearing the voices in the living room. Chandni and Ashka came out of the guestroom. When they heard what had happened, they rushed towards the lift. Everyone else too started on their way down.

Mohini and Vijaykumar were trying to bring Karan back to his senses even though both of them were completely shocked. “Wake up Karan, wake up…” Vijaykumar spoke and kept patting Karan’s cheeks. Mohini asked the servant woman to get some water to sprinkle on Karan’s face.

Taking advantage of the situation, Omar Hassan rushed to Nisha’s bedroom. Frantically he began searching for something in her bedroom. He opened drawers and her cupboard looking for something. In the end, he took out something from one of the drawers in her bedroom, opened the upper two buttons of his shirt and slid it inside. As he closed the buttons of his shirt, he walked out of the room quickly. When he came out of the passage and headed towards the main door of the living room, Mohini saw him. But Karan opened his eyes just then, so her attention was diverted. Omar took a sigh of relief and rushed outside Nisha’s home and started descending the stairs without waiting for the lift. He knew that Mohini had seen him when he came out of Nisha’s bedroom.

What had he taken from there?
