Bollywood is the largest entertainment industry in the country and every year there are so many movies that release. Genres like romance, thriller, war, comedy etc. are an all-time hit but we think that the actors who have developed their forte in particular genres should not repeat that genre and guess what – they will not be doing so again, says various media reports.
Being experimental in the industry is an art all should learn. There have also been many artists who have publicly admitted that they will not repeat a role in a particular genre where they have worked successfully in the past.
1) Rishi Kapoor:
Rishi Kapoor was the heartthrob of the Bollywood Industry just like his father ‘Raj Kapoor’. Since the era of the 80s, he has been doing romantic movies and achieved great success in it. But in the 90s things took a U-turn for him as the competition was ugly for him and his films were also not performing well at the box office. Kapoor’s last romantic movie was ‘Karobaar’ in 2000, the actor was seen in a romantic movie after an 8-year gap. We think acting in a tragi-comic movie like 102 Not Out was a brilliant choice by him. As we had too much of the ‘Punjabi father’ roles from him.
2) Deepika Padukone:
Now she can be called as the current queen of historical drama genre, as she has starred in many films like that out of which all have been controversial in nature. The latest ‘Padmaavat’ took a toll on the whole country, Padukone has said that she will not do any historical dramas after this, according to various media reports.
3) Ajay Devgn:
Ajay Devgn is a very skilful actor and we see him less these days on the screen as he simply does one or two movies in a year, not like before. Devgn’s movie ‘Rascals’ released along with Sanjay Dutt and Kangana Ranaut and was a disaster at the box office. Not only this, the actor even received backlash for doing films with vulgar jokes. Ajay said this in an interview with a leading media house and since then he has not signed any sex or double meaning comedy project. Seeing him in the recent film, ‘Raid’ was a good change.
Do you agree?
