3 Characters Played By Sidharth Malhotra That Resonate With Us

Sidharth Malhotra turns 33 today. While we do have interesting stories about his life at the end of this article, let’s revisit the lane he took to stardom in Bollywood through the characters he played.

Quick Fact: He was an assistant director in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, ‘My Name Is Khan’!

Here are three characters played by him that all of us can relate to:

1. Abhimanyu Singh in Student Of The Year

A guy with an equally talented best friend, scaling heights in college is a very common character. Competing against each other and letting that competition get to our heads is something most of us can relate to. Then, he falls in love with his best friend’s girl! Relatable again?

There is one thing to learn from this movie. Forget competing with others, compete with yourself. Stop idolising those who win at this organised meets and stop bullying those who don’t.

2. Nikhil Bharadwaj in Hasee Toh Phasee

We don’t need to say more here, do we? Malhotra’s character in the movie is fed up being treated like a dog in his relationship but doesn’t want to hurt his girlfriend at the same time. Then like a cyclone, an unconventional girl walks into his life. That’s when he realises he loves her.

What do we learn from this? To be patient for love. To know when we are respected in a relationship and when we aren’t. And to walk out from bonds that disrespect us.

3. Guru in Ek Villian

Not all of us are ‘goondas’ like Malhotra’s character in the movie, we are very much like him when it comes to emotions and expression. We have shut ourselves down and resort to violence to solve every other thing. Guru opens up after Ayesha walks into his life.

Open up and express. Let go of grudges, this isn’t the time to hold back.

Siddharth Malhotra is a talented actor in Bollywood with a promising future ahead of him. Just like many others in the film industry, he has struggled a lot before he bagged his role in Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’.

Malhotra comes from a simple family. He was born to Sunil and Rimmi Malhotra, – his father was a Merchant Navy officer.

He started modelling from the age of 16 and was discovered by a casting agent in a cafe!
