1) Recently actress Anushka Sharma got married to the topmost Indian cricket team player and captain Virat Kohli. According to the reports Anushka Sharma was wearing the ‘Mangalsutra’ which had the cost of approximately Rs 52 lakhs. The marriage took place in Italy but through Hindu rituals and ceremony.

2) Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan got married 11 years ago back in 2007. The duo got married with Hindu rituals and in a private ceremony. After their marriage, there were speculations revolving around the hefty price of the ‘mangalsutra’ which ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has that costs a whopping Rs 45 lakhs.

3) Bollywood’s fitness freak actress ‘Shilpa Shetty’ got married to businessman ‘Raj Kundra’ in 2009. Their marriage took place as per the Hindu rituals and ‘Shetty’s ‘mangalsutra’ grabbed eyeballs everywhere in the media as it cost a whopping Rs 30 lakh!

Recently on 8th May, actress Sonam Kapoor got married to the businessman Anand Ahuja. Her wedding ring cost Rs 90 lakh and with her mangalsutra she went a step ahead. Sonam customised her mangalsutra according to her and Anand Ahuja’s sun signs. It has a solitaire in the middle and has Gemini on one side and Leo on the other side. We estimate the cost of the mangalsutra to be somewhere around the cost of the wedding ring that was gifted to her.
