Sir Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis is one of the best actors we have now in the Hollywood film industry. His stellar performances have won millions of hearts. Day-Lewis is the only actor to win Three Academy Awards for Best Actor in history. He started doing films from the 1970s and until now we have only seen a total of 21 films out of which maximum were successful.
He has his own way of doing films. While doing one film he religiously gets inside the soul of the film so he is fully focused. Daniel Day-Lewis lives in Ireland with his family and does not like his private life being disturbed by the press, so he preferred Ireland over England. He has citizenship of both the countries.

Released in the year of 1989 Daniel Day-Lewis plays the role of Christy Brown who has Cerebral Palsy. His whole body is out of his control twisted and turned. What he can do is only control his left foot, which is not affected. This is one such movie in his career which won him several awards and accolades. For the preparation of the role, he kept on moving on wheelchair constantly around the sets of the movie. When the movie released it was a masterpiece which should not be missed. 2) There Will Be Blood:
Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and released in the year of 2007, There Will Be Blood is one such movie which holds a special place in his career. The performance of the actor earned him acclaim around the globe. The movie is about a silver miner played by Day-Lewis who pursues his gruesome quest for wealth at the time of the oil boom in the Southern Part of the Californian city in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The movie has been named as the best film of the 21st century so far in 2017 by The New York Times. Again this movie won him lots of awards and is a landmark film in his career.
Everybody knows who is Abe Lincoln, Daniel Day-Lewis is playing the role of United States President Abraham Lincoln. Directed by one of the finest directors in the world, Steven Spielberg, the movie is created for the audience to see Lincoln and how he was. There are different parts of his life shown on the screen. Again this movie won the actor several awards but what was more astonishing that this was a big commercial success across the globe. The focus of the film is on the last two months of Lincoln’s life, how he is as a President, how he passes the rules, bills and his political career. His personal life is also portrayed in the film. Released in 2012, this is a 6-year-old film and it should never be missed.
4) In The Name Of The Father:
This is one of finest acting by the actor when he was young, it released in the year of 1993, directed by Jim Sheridan. The theme of the movie is a biographical courtroom drama where Daniel Day-Lewis is playing the role of Gerry Conlon who is wrongly accused of the ‘1974 Guildford Pb Bombings’. His father is also wrongly accused and this is their story of how they fight for their respect and integrity, turn things upside down. This is one of his most intense performances.
5) The Last Of The Mohicans:
The Last Of The Mohicans is an epic historical drama film set in 1757 of the French and Indian War, released in 1992. A very powerful and dynamic performance by Day-Lewis once again. Day-Lewis is fighting for the land which is very near to him. This is an action film where he is seen fighting the people who are snatching away his land. The movie is based on a novel of the same name by James Fenimore and Philip Dunne.
