5 Bollywood Films That Were Marketed Creatively

Before the movie is to release the marketing and the promotion of it is a very essential part of ensuring a box office win. This is how the movie first connects with the audience and for this part, there is a separate budget allocated. The connectivity of the movie ensures the success even if it is not anything extraordinary.

While most production houses go the conventional way, some have thought out of the box and got creative. Let us see one of the most creative ways filmmakers did to promote their film:

1) Tamasha:

Imtiaz Ali, the director of the movie along with both Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, took a train journey from Mumbai to Delhi to promote the film. This created a lot of buzz in the online media and a lot of fans were enthralled.

Unfortunately, the movie was only a critical hit, not a box office one.

2) Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara:

Just like the theme of the movie where the friends do a road trip, all the five actors of the film started a road trip from Mumbai to Gujarat, then from Gujarat to Rajasthan and finally ended in Delhi. This creative step garnered them a lot of attention.

The movie became some sort of a cult film and was a super hit, especially amongst the youth.

3) 3 Idiots:

In this movie, there is a song based on the character of ‘Aamir Khan’, ‘Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh’ sung by singer Shaan. At the time this song was launched, actor Aamir Khan disguised himself in various attires, threw a challenge to his fans to spot him!

His fans went crazy over this as the disguises were really good. 3 Idiots went on to become a blockbuster.

4) 2 States:

This was one of the most creative ways used until now for promoting a movie to the audiences. The movie makers and Alia Bhatt tweeted her wedding card (which was from the movie ) in her real life, the only motto of the card was to invite her fans for her on-screen marriage. At the end of the invitation card, it was written that in the form of ‘ gifts or Shagun’ don’t buy anything except the movie tickets!

The film did well at the box office.

5) Bobby Jasoos:

For this movie, Vidya Balan played the role of a detective. Before the release of the movie she disguised herself in the attire of a beggar and sat down on the streets. And no people did not recognise her! It was only later when it was revealed what she did that the fans realised.

Bobby Jasoos did not do well at the box office.
