India is known to be a land of diverse cultures, some of the cultures that haven’t been experienced by most of us. There are some not so well known places in the country that are unexplored and really rich in culture.
Sometimes we need to visit places that don’t have many footprints and are if not literally but figuratively, untouched by humans.
Visiting these five destinations will transport you into a different world altogether:
1. Kaza, Himachal Pradesh:
Even though Himachal Pradesh is a place preferred by domestic and international travellers, the stretch that leads to Kaza is not explored enough. Kaza, a place that will remind you of monasteries, monks and Buddhist traditions is a unique beauty, unmatched by anything else. While reaching there might be difficult, once you are at Kaza, you can spot the Milkyway in the night sky and have an experience of a lifetime.
2. Mechuka, Arunachal Pradesh:
A small town located at 6,000 feet above sea level – it is right out a painting. The Mechuka valley is stunning – you won’t be able to take your eyes off the scenery. This is a completely different picture of India, only a few kilometres before the MacMohan Line. One can also experience the beautiful culture of Arunachal Pradesh and find some peace.
3. Hodoko, Gujarat:
Kutch – the famous town in Gujarat is pretty near to this lovely hamlet, Hodoko. The women of this village are supremely talented in the arts. Their embroidery is famous across the world. 4. Ashtamudi Backwaters, Kerala:
Located in Kollam, the Ashtamudi lake is a beautiful, unexplored version of the famous ‘Kerala backwaters’. Cruise on the calm waters of this lake as you look within to find hidden treasures. It is not crowd infested and will truly give you the Kerala experience.
5. Hogenakkal, Tamil Nadu:
Hogenakkal is where you will find the Indian version of Niagara Falls. The picturesque town is forked by various tributaries of Kaveri river, that open up as waterfalls and touch your heart. The beautiful town is a place to visit if you are looking for some serenity with a gist of Tamil culture.
