These five quotes by great philosopher Chanakya will help you judge people, situations and responses in a better way!
Chanakya, who was traditionally known as Kautilya or Vishnugupta authored the famous work, Arthashastra. He is considered to be a pioneer in the field of political science and economics.
His wisdom has survived across centuries.
Chanakya is credited to have played a very important role in the successful reign of the Mauryan dynasty.
Here are five quotes by him that are very wise and relevant even today:
1. ON FEAR:
“As soon as the fear approaches near, attack and destroy it.”
This is believed by many philosophers. The reason why fear overtakes one’s life is because most of us keep running from it and play defensive. If we go by what Chanakya has said and attack it, we will emerge victorious.
2. ON EFFORTS:
“Once you start a working on something, don’t be afraid of failure and don’t abandon it. People who work sincerely are the happiest.”
This goes in line with the famous saying, ‘Never Give Up’. Consistency, dedication and sincerity can make one climb even the highest mountain.
3. ON EDUCATION:
“Education is the best friend. An educated person is respected everywhere. Education beats the beauty and the youth.”
Education is timeless. Education here is not limited to books but goes beyond it – towards experiences. Beauty and youth would fade away, learning will not.
4. ON GOD:
“God is not present in idols. Your feelings are your god. The soul is your temple.”
The search for God has to be inwards, not outwards. The imperishable soul is what needs to be one’s focus in life.
5. ON LIFE:
“We should not fret for what is past, nor should we be anxious about the future; men of discernment deal only with the present moment.”
Present is a gift. Our energies would be on 100% if we think about the moment we are in and channelize over making the best of the day that is in front of us.
