While for most Goa has been a destination for fun and partying, very few realise that is a lot more to Goa than the club scene. The state that is home to waterfalls, islands and bird sanctuaries has one thing that you never expected it to have – peace.

1. Visit the ancient and picturesque forts:
Goa is home to beautiful forts like Reis Magos, Fort Aguada and Chapora Fort (famously known as Dil Chahta hai fort). Each of these forts has a history to get lost in – not to forget the breath-taking views of the sea that it offers. It is always worth the climb. Who wouldn’t want a picture up there?
2. Go exploring in nature:
Whether it is a trek to Dudhsagar waterfalls or an excursion to Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, Goa will not disappoint you. Dudhsagar falls has been the landscape for innumerable film shootings. It is 310 feet high. The best time to visit the falls would be in monsoon. Apart for going bird-watching at Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary you could also go in search of wildlife at Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. It is an unforgettable experience.
3. Explore the churches and the old Portuguese structures:
A visit to Old Goa (Velha, Goa) will transport you back in time. You would instantly connect with those pristine white churches that will bring sheer joy to your heart. Visit, the Basilica of Bom Jesus, St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Xavier’s Church, the Wax World museum and Church & Convent of St. Cajetan are must-see!
4. Explore the virgin beaches up-North or down-South:
Leaving out the usual and famous Candolim-Calangute-Anjuna-Baga stretch, chose to visit the beautiful Morjim, Ashvem, Qeri and Arambol up North or Palolem, Butterfly, Varca and Bogmalo down South. These beaches will be etched in your memory forever and wouldn’t make you miss clean beaches in India.
5. Indulge into some water adventure:
Almost all beaches of Goa let you bring out the adventurous side. Go para0sailing to have a beautiful aerial view of the beach state, or have crazy fun in a banana ride. Also, opting for a scuba dive in Goa is a great idea as it has clean waters that will let you truly enjoy the experience.
