5 Times B-Town Celebs Said Yes To A Film Without Reading The Script

Judging a movie without reading the script and directly saying a ‘yes’ requires a developed instinct. Not just that, the bond between the actor and director has to be trustworthy. The actor has to believe in the vision of the director, same goes with the director as he/she has immense trust in the actor they have approached.

There are many jodis in the Bollywood industry of director and actors which have turned out to be extremely successful in their ventures:

These actors have said a ‘yes’ for a movie without even reading the script:

1) Anushka Sharma:

The ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ actress had never worked with director ‘Rajkumar Hirani’ and she said a ‘yes’ without even reading the script for ‘PK’ alongside Aamir Khan. There are actors/actresses who are dying to work with this director as he still holds a record of not giving a flop.

A report in the media stated that, “Anushka told Raju: I am ready to play whatever role you have in mind for me. She is a huge fan of his work, so she was so sure that he would do justice to her part. But being the professional that Raju is, he told her, ‘It’s great that you want to do my film, but still, you have to sit for a narration before we finalize things.”

2) Richa Chaddha:

Chaddha’s work is loved by the audiences. She said an instant ‘yes’ for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Raas Leela- Ram Leela’ which turned out to be that year’s best film. Her role in the movie was praised a lot and thought short, it was strong enough to capture the attention of the viewers.

Chaddha told the media that “ Initially, I was not sure about doing ‘Ram-Leela’ as I had not read the script. I did not get to read the script until one month of filming. As he (Bhansali) is guarded about what he makes. I think it is every actor’s dream to work with him. He creates his own world, where people like it or not”

3) Deepika Padukone:

Deepika Padukone in her career also took a risk without reading the script of director Ayan Mukherjee’s ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’. Deepika always wanted to work with Ayan and she wanted to work with actor Ranbir Kapoor also after ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’. This movie was a blockbuster.

The ‘Padmaavati’ actress told the media that “When I agreed to do the film, I had not read the script, but I had faith in Ayan and working with Ranbir was the other & shy reason I said ‘yes’ to the film.”

4) Katrina Kaif:

Katrina Kaif has done many roles without the reading the scripts of the movie. Her luck has been beneficial for her in the case of ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ wherein her role is noticed by the audience for which her image has been set up that she can fit into any role.

Kaif has herself confessed to the media that “Ideally, I should say no, but yes, I have signed films without reading scripts. I don’t exactly remember which ones but it has to be one of those earlier films like Welcome, Singh is Kingg, etc. Sometimes you don’t want to read the script. Like in case of Jab Tak Hai Jaan or Ek Tha Tiger, you can be sure about your role.”

5) Shahrukh Khan:

Shahrukh Khan is one of the most sought-after choices by the directors, but there are directors like ‘Karan Johar’ who can bring out the best in SRK. Even though romance is his forte, he can do justice to any role. Whenever these two have collaborated it has been the best. Khan did not read the script for ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ before he signed the film. It stands out to be one of his best roles till now. This was not directed by Karan Johar but Shahrukh is the centre of this movie, for which he even won many accolades and awards.

Shahrukh Khan revealed to the media that “When I was offered Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, it was something else and it turned out something else, and for Kal Ho Na Ho I didn’t even read the script. Even Karan knows I have no sense of scripting and screenplay, and maybe that’s why I make awful films, (smiles).”
