AB de Villiers Retires: Interesting Facts About One Of The Top Batsmen In The World

Villiers has been ranked as the best batsman in the world – Virat Kohli & Villiers keep replacing each other for the No.1 spot (Virat Kohli being on the no.1 place currently). Before Virat Kohli, there were hardly any players who were as unconventional as Villiers. A strong batsman, a focused wicketkeeper and overall the best cricketer of the South African Team, he always ranks in the top 3 batsmen in the world.

As we hear the news of him announcing his retirement from international cricket, we cannot help but reminisce his life.

Abraham Benjamin (AB de Villiers) was for a short period of time, the captain of the South African cricket team.  Till date he is the only player who has stepped up in so many common sports, surprising his fans.

He was born on 17 February 1984 and it is aid that 17 his lucky number. His jersey number is also 17.

1) In ODI, AB de Villiers, South African scored the fastest century in 31 balls against the West Indies at Johannesburg on 18th January 2015, breaking the record of New Zealand’s Corey Anderson.

3) AB de Villiers is holding six swimming records for a school in South Africa and he was the captain of the South African junior rugby team.
