Stree starring Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee. The movie is based on the concept of ‘Nale Ba’ which means ‘O Stree Kal Aana’, and this is also a popular folk tale. This is written on the walls of the villagers so that the evil spirit or ghost, ‘Stree’ does not enter the house.
The bridal ghost roams around in search of her husband. All of this started from the Central Indian state, Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Chanderi’ town where the myth of this bridal ghost existed, who served to be a messiah for the females who were not given their equal rights and many other issues faced by the female sect in the male-dominated places of the state. This is what the movie is based on with a talented star cast.
Stree released on 31st August and opened to successful numbers. The review of the movie has been good. The comic timing, acting of all the actors especially Rao, and Tripathi and horror sequences scare it all out of you, making you laugh at the same time.
An incident happened when the makers and the cast of the movie were shooting for a sequence and in return they all got scared. The makers were warned by the residents of the ‘Chanderi’ village about the paranormal presence and activities on the street which they were shooting.
The late-night shoot was an important part of the movie which sent a chill down the spines of everyone who was present there. When the makers started for the shooting, cameras started malfunctioning all of a sudden, there were technical difficulties and in short, everything went wrong. The crew did not get the proper shot because things like that kept on happening till early morning. The makers after the sunrise resumed the shooting and things started sailing smooth, which is evident in the movie which has been shot with pure perfection.
Do you think the legend of ‘Nale Ba’ is real?
