Europe & Bollywood: An Unending Love Affair

Bollywood has covered the most enticing, exotic and alluring locations around the globe. Europe can be called as the heart of the Bollywood industry when it comes to selecting locations for shooting. Bollywood has been exploring each and every side of the continent lately. Many movies have something or the other related to Europe, the continent has a significant value due to its vibrant simplicity.

These locations have been seen in the Bollywood movies:

1) Budapest Chain Bridge:

Remember Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai from the climax scene of‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’? This was shot at the Royal Hungarian Opera House and the Budapest Chain Bridge. After that many other big movies have also been shot here.

2) Corsica, France:

Imtiaz Ali made us visit this paradise which lies between the border of France and Italy. Corsica is a beautiful island with blue water and the beautiful side of the place was explored more in Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Tamasha’. This is one of the most scenic and happening sides of France.

3) Mykonos Island, Greece:

In this place it all started with Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee’s ‘Chalte Chalte’, everyone remembers the famous song from the movie ‘ Tauba Tumhare’. Wanted, Bang Bang and Tashan were also shot in Mykonos, Rhodes, Athens and Santorini.

4) Lake Alpenrausch, Switzerland:

Remember the lake which has been named after late ‘Yash Chopra’, known as the Chopra Lake? Lake Alpenrausch was seen in late actress Sridevi’s ‘Chandni’, then in ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, ‘Dhoom 3’, ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Darr’.

5) Museumplein, Amsterdam:

Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee’s super hit movie ‘Hum Tum’ was shot here and then in places like Amsterdam Royal Palace, Aran Pub and Hard Rock Cafe. Recently, Museumplein is also seen in actress Kangana Ranaut’s movie ‘Queen’, in a song.
