Making a movie on the lives of the firefighters is absolutely a new concept. Raees’ director, Rahul Dholakia along with the producers Riteish Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar are making a movie on the firefighters and the type of acknowledgement they should be receiving.
Rahul Dholakia’s Raees was one of the most successful movies of 2017, although being a commercial one it was loved by the audiences. Nobody in the Bollywood industry has ever made a movie on the firefighters – their job and how risky it is to save a life when things around are turning into ashes.
The director firmly believes that firefighters do not get so much attention and their work is also as similar to the cops or the army which involves lots of courage with risk.
This movie is not a biopic as Rahul Dholakia will be making a movie on the general incidents which include the contributions of the firefighters as a collective work of everyone. The film will also cover the work of a firefighter named ‘Tukaram’ who has done commendable work and he is persistent in making his team better in answering the ‘SOS’ calls.
Rahul Dholakia even visited the fire stations along with the Brand Ambassador of the Mumbai Fire Brigade, actor Randeep Hooda. Firefighters work is so challenging that it should be portrayed on the screen, for example their work was not seen by the people during the 26/11 attacks which happened in Mumbai. It is a courageous thing to tackle the fire and save lives which needs to be put forth in front of the audiences.
Along with this being the general theme of the movie it will also revolve around the relationship of a father and son, which will be a blend of some emotional aspect in the film. There will be lots of visual thrills in the movie. No actors have yet been finalized for the role as it is still in discussions.
