Fondly referred to as ‘Gabo’, Gabriel García Márquez was a Colombian writer who is loved all over the world for his amazing books that have often been referred to as ‘legendary’. Known for his works like ‘One Hundred Years Of Solitude’ and ‘Love In The Time Of Cholera’, was one of the most unforgettable authors of the 20th century.
His contribution to literature has been terrific. Márquez, who started off as a journalist popularised a literary style called ‘magic realism’ which used magical elements while writing in real situations. In 1982, he received the Nobel Prize for literature.
