Halloween Special : 5 Hotels And Houses That Are Really Scary!

Remember those ‘Haunted Houses’ at amusement parks? Well, some of them could be inspired from real ones!

While watching Paranormal Activity or any other horror movie we often wonder if ghosts are real and if such things can actually happen to a person. We will never know the truth until we experience something ourselves but until then, let’s read the stories of hauntings that have been reported around us!

1) The Vrindavan Society in Thane, Mumbai:

This society is a very famous one and it does not look like a haunted place. Though only some residents have reported paranormal activities.

A man living in this society committed suicide and his spirit haunts the society once it is dark, as per what the people say. A security guard was slapped in the face once with such a force that he toppled down from his chair. 2 other security guards reached the spot and found no one. Eerie, isn’t it?

2) Raj Kiran hotel, Lonavala in Maharashtra:

Raj Kiran Hotel is considered to be highly supernatural. Residents who stayed in one particular room reported that their bed sheets were pulled over when they were sleeping (yes exactly how it is shown in The Conjuring).

Other people have also reported having woken up on the middle of the night with a ray of blue light at their feet. This particular room is in the corner and at the backside of the reception and on the ground floor. The hotel doesn’t let out the room unless a guest specifically asks for it.

3) Fern Hill Hotel in Ooty, Tamil Nadu:

This hotel is now closed due to repeated haunting events. Once, during the shoot of the Bollywood movie Raaz scary incidents had happened.

Bipasha Basu had said, “Once Sarroji and her troupe checked in late at night and were awake by someone rearranging furniture in the room above. The dancers who had an early morning shoot tried calling the reception but the phone was dead. Desperate for sleep, some went down to complaint, only to have the receptionist escort them outside and point upwards to show that there was no floor above!”

4) Tower of Silence, Mumbai:

It is a Parsi cemetery situated near the Malabar Hills, Mumbai. They have a ritual of leaving the bodies of the dead on a well’s grill to be fed by the vultures.

As per the reports the paranormal activities happening Grand Paradi Towers in Mumbai happens due to the spectral forces coming out from this cemetery. The towers have seen a lot of suicides and hauntings over a few decades. It is reported that an two generations of the same family killed themselves here!

5) Savoy Hotel in Mussoorie:

Garmet Orme was found dead in one of the rooms of the Savoy Hotel under mysterious circumstances and it is reported that her spirit haunts the place ever since. Some of the people say that she was poisoned and strychnine was discovered in one of her medicine bottles.

The incident created a sensation and Agatha Christie’s best seller ‘The Mysterious Affairs At Styles’ is based on this. The staff of the hotel has complained many times that they saw a lady walking in white in the hallways with strange noises and disturbances coming from the room where she was murdered. Strange isn’t it?
