Bollywood’s famous actress and winner of the Miss Universe pageant of 1994 held in Manila, Philippines, Sushmita Sen was the first Indian woman to win that crown. She made the whole country proud and paved her way inside the Bollywood industry with her debut in Dastak in 1996. The actress has also won the title of Femina Miss India before winning the ‘Miss World’ crown.
Born on 19th November 1975, in a Bengali family to father Shuru Sen, a former Indian Air Force Wing Commander and mother Subhra Sen, a jewellery designer and owner of a Dubai based store, she was always talented.
In the Bollywood Industry, she made her name from the year of 1999, after her film Biwi No. 1 performed well at the box office. Sen has been known for her roles in Aankhen, Main Hoon Na and others.
The actress is highly fond of reptiles and her level of love for them is at a different level because she has one at her home! Sen owns a python pet at her home! It is a wild possession and owning a reptile that too at home is something highly brave. The python is a big sized one and she is not afraid of it.
According to a report in Hindustan Times dated September 5, 2006, a snake slithered in the sets of a movie Sen was shooting for. ‘Sen didn’t flinch – instead, she bowed before it and chanted Hindu hymns to calm the reptile.’ The actress considered snakes to be ‘naag devtas’. What would those say who have been bitten by snakes?
Right from childhood when the ‘Miss Universe’ was young she had a problem in speaking English properly, in-fact she could not even write. Lots of hard work, dedication since then onwards was done to get complete hold of the language and Sushmita was highly successful over there by mastering English. Sushmita Sen did her graduation in Journalism and was an English Honors Student.
Does the actress still have the python at home?
