Elon Musk – the name that has been making the news every now and then, is known to everyone. Musk, is a South African business magnate, investor, inventor and engineer. He is the CEO, founder and CTO for SpaceX – the company that is going to send people to planet Mars to colonise it, the CEO and co-founder of the famous Tesla Inc. and the brain behind super-fast transportation system – Hyperloop. Musk is associated and owns various companies – Neuralink, PayPal, The Boring Company etc.
Elon Musk is was ranked 21st on Forbes’ List of The World’s Most Powerful People in December 2016. one of the most powerful people in the world, with a net worth around $20.8 billion.
So what did Musk do before he became such a big name?
Since his childhood he was a hard-core reader,a visionary and had an aim of making the world a better place to live in.
Once in his early years, Musk and his friend, roommate Adeo Ressi had trouble paying the rent of their apartment. And to solve that issue, they rented a 10-bedroom frathouse and converted it into a night club! This is when they were studying at the University of Pennsylvania. Musk’s college time was filled with parties, but these parties were a strict source of income for him to pay the rent of the house.
Adeo Ressi, the billionaire visionary’s friend and room mate of Musk once told Vogue, “There were some nights where I’d be like, ‘Where’s Elon?’ and I’d go up to his room and pound on the door and he’s in there playing a video game.”
Whenever there was a party in Musk’s house nearly 500-1000 people attended those and Musk and Ressi charged them for admission. Musk was never really interested in the parties which were conducted his houses that time, he use to do his own work.
According to the same story in Vogue, Musk was badly bullied in his teenage years and once was also hospitalised after being beaten by those bullies in high school.
The nightclub was one of his first stints with entrepreneurship.
