Do You Know Why Saif Ali Khan’s Film Got This Title ‘Kaalakaandi’?

‘Kaalakaandi’  is the movie of a black comedy genre starring Saif Ali Khan, Vijay Raaz, Deepak Dobriyal, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar and Sobhita Dhulipala which is slated to release on 18thJanuary 2018.

This movie is based on the lifestyle of Mumbai city. In the movie there are 3 different stories, which enclose 3 various sections of society, lifestyles, language and even attitude.

First the name of the movie was ‘Kaalagandi’ but due to legal hassles, which found the title very rude and naughty it was changed to ‘Kaalakaandi’ – which means ‘gadbad ho gayi’ or ‘something screwed up’.

The theme of the movie rolls on ‘Kaands’ mix ups (Jhols) happening in real life.

Saif speaks about his character Rileen who in the movie gets to know that he does not have much time to live as he has cancer irrespective of him never indulging in any bad habits like smoking.

Rileen’s (Saif) brother (Akshay Oberoi) is getting married at his party, so Rileen consumes a pill which is offered by one of the guys present there and after that he experiences the best time of his life in this night when he communicates with 2 mafia guys present in the party (Deepak and Vijay). Thus the night of crazy adventures has begun among the 6 lead characters in the movie whose paths collide on a fine monsoon night.

46 year old Khan has for the first time done an experimental role which can make this film the most eccentric film of his career due to his weird look in the film which he carries throughout the trailer.

Kaalakaandi is written, directed by Akshat Verma who was the writer for black comedy Delhi Belly 2011.
