Kumud Mishra is an Indian theatre and movie actor who started his journey in Bollywood from director Shyam Benegal’s ‘Sardari Begum’ in 1996 alongside Kirron Kher, Amrish Puri but he was not recognized yet. Mishra’s actual journey started from Imtiaz Ali’s superhit ‘Rockstar’ in 2011 along with Ranbir Kapoor where he played the role of an owner of the college canteen who gives advises to the antagonist on how to become a famous singer.
Kumud Mishra is married to actress Ayesha Raza and they have a son named Kabir. After the lead cast is finalised, the most important thing for the movie makers are the actors who play the supporting roles, without whom the film would be incomplete. Mishra at this level has made a very strong name for himself.
Till date, his first love is not for films but for theatre. The theatre is from where he had set up his base in his early days, 20 years ago. When Mishra came to Mumbai for the first time, he started working at Prithvi. He considers him a good actor today due to his father, whose acting genes he has inherited.
He is one of the most promising actors today, who can support the whole movie on his shoulders alone. His journey from ‘Rockstar’ till the recent ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ has been fantastic with so many roles, experiences and different facets being played by him on screen. Mishra acting is flamboyant for the viewers.
His role in ‘Sultan’ was loved by the audiences where he acts the part of being Salman Khan’s trainer and actress Anushka Sharma’s father and trainer in ‘Sultan’. A few other commendable roles played by him opposite Akshay Kumar were as a media baron in ‘Rustom’, a government officer in ‘Airlift’ and a corrupt police officer in ‘Jolly LLB 2’. Recently, he plays the role of RAW’s most reliable technology-versed agent opposite Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif in Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’.
Kumud Mishra will be next seen in director Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaary’ where he plays the role of an antagonist alongside Manoj Vajpayee and Siddharth Malhotra on 26th of January 2018.
