Loved A Movie? In 2018, We Are Going To See A Lot Of Sequels

The franchise industry in Bollywood is unpredictable. Since many movies work and many fail, lots of efforts are to be put into the making the second or third part of the movie because it has to be better than the previous part.

The audience expects a higher level of everything in the next part. We have seen some sequels performing better at the box office than the previous one, while some have bombed at the box office.

Here are some sequels we will see this year:

1) Student Of The Year 2:

The first instalment was a rocket launcher for the three actors.

Part 2 is starring actor Tiger Shroff, actor Chunkey Pandey’s daughter Ahana Pandey and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. But unfortunately, this one is not being directed by Karan Johar like the first one. Punit Malhotra is the director. Student Of The Year 2 will be releasing on 23rd November, acting as a launching pad for these three actors.

2) Total Dhamaal:

This is one of the most awaited as the cast has been completely changed. It is the third part of the Dhamaal franchise and the sequel to 2011 movie, ‘Double Dhamaal’.

Total Dhamaal stars Ajay Devgn who has stepped into the role of Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor also plays the role of a police inspector and actress Madhuri Dixit as Kapoor’s wife. We will also see actors Ritesh Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffrey. Salman Khan will be making a cameo in the movie. Boman Irani and Johnny Lever have joined the cast. Total Dhamaal will be releasing on 7th December 2018, this time too the cast is very promising.

3) 2.0:

The Indian audience is getting very impatient with rumours revolving around the second part of ‘Robot’, which stars Khiladi Akshay Kumar in a negative role who for the first time has collaborated with South superstar ‘Rajnikanth’. 2.0 ‘s budget is around 450 crores! The movie has shifted lots of dates to avoid the clashes with other movies.

Finally, the release date of the movie has been decided that it will be releasing on 15th August. Thanks to Akshay Kumar for this as he shifted his other movie ‘Gold’, which was directed by Reema Kagti to a different date so that 2.0 can be released.

4) Race 3:

The movie has Salman Khan in the lead cast. The third part of the Race series, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez and Daisy Shah is expected to be as gripping as the previous ones. Race 3 is releasing on 15th June on Eid. Directed by Remo D’souza, the shooting of the film is 95% completed.

This is for the very first time that Khan is playing the role of a negative character in Race 3.

Which sequel are you eagerly waiting for?
