This movie was a fresh one as it showed the husband making efforts to reunite his newly wed wife with her unrequited love. It was beautifully shot.
3. Sofia D’souza in Guzaarish:
Although this movie didn’t perform great on the box office, the subtle role of a nurse that Rai played in the movie was executed gracefully by the actress. Her role was appreciated by the audience and the critics, alike.
This film was based on the issue of euthanasia and shows Rai taking a difficult decision that impacts the life of another. Her character as Sofia was unforgettable.
4. Anita Rajan in Sarkar Raj:
While the characters of Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan were extremely powerful in the movie, Aishwarya’s character embodied the modern woman. Her character of strong business woman who later takes over the chair of ‘Sarkar’ was portrayed perfectly by Rai.
This movie underlined the idea that politics in not gender-defined. Also, it did not have a happy ending, making the movie more impactful.
5. Jodha In Jodha Akbar:
Yet another character played by Rai that exemplified the strength of a woman. Her character of Jodhabai, the queen, was not only gorgeous but also sent out multiple messages in a period drama.
In the film, Rai sends out messages of equality, freedom to practice any religion and of unconditional love. There are also various things that her character teaches to ‘Akbar’, he reel life husband.
Apart from these films there are plenty of other roles that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played that are worth a mention. Her roles, in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Jazbaa, Hum Apke Dil Me Rehte Hai, Dhoom 2, Devdas, Sarbjit and Guru were also spectacular.
