This Man Who Lost His Legs In An Accident, Rode 50,000 kms On A Bullet!

Gota Satish Kumar who is a double amputee has done wonders with his life – wonders that we have only begun to dream about.

In an unfortunate event in 2005, at the age of 26, he slipped while getting down from the train and both of his legs got stuck in the space between the train and the platform. Both of his legs were crushed by the train wheels – it was as if his life had come to an end. Naturally, if something so tragic happens, even the ones with a strong mind would sink into depression. Kumar did too. He was thinking about giving up on life when he used to see other people standing up on their feet and doing their work.

This was the turning point in his life when on a normal day he was going through news and he read a report of a teen who had committed suicide. That day Kumar thought that he still has his own life even though he doesn’t have legs. He realised how beautiful life is and how grateful he is that he can experience and enjoy this life.

People today love to travel. Simply ask anyone what are their long-term plans? They will tell you that at an early age they are going to retire and travel. It is a vital part of our life today. In today’s times what is more in trend is a road trip. And Kumar did just that!

This 35-year-old man solo travels across India.  Kumar always wanted to travel, meet new people, hear more stories and these were the things which keeps him going in life. With the support of prosthetic legs, he started learning how to ride a scooter and then a bike.

“Ability and disability are just human perceptions. If I can do it, anyone can,” Satish told The Hindu.

The biker wanted to set an example for everyone and he has received immense support from both his friends and family. His wife has been the backbone for him in all these times. His mother and wife ensured that Gota Satish Kumar has all the means to star the trip by taking a gold loan against jewelry.

The judgment day came on 2nd September 2016 when Kumar commenced his journey on his bullet from his hometown of Raigarha which is in Odisha. He aimed at creating records in both Guinness and Limca Books Of World Records. His dreams were coming true as he truly became an example for everyone in the country. The bullet rider completed 16,000 km in the disabled category and he also went for 50,000 km in the general category and completed it. Lots of willpower is needed for this.

When your willpower is strong nothing can come in your way instead destiny will unfold good things for you. The famous Tollywood actor, Pawan Kalyan got so emotional after hearing Satish’s story that to fulfill the biker’s wish he contributed Rs 5,00,000 for his road trip throughout India.

After completing the trip in February 2017 back in Odisha, G. Satish Kumar won the ‘Guinness World Record’ for completing 50,000 km long journey solo.
