An imposter is sending obscene messages from a fake Facebook account, Rajkumar Rao to go to Cyber Crime Cell on Monday.
Rajkumar Rao’s fake Facebook account has been created and that account is being used for malicious purposes. Rao was alerted about the fictitious account by a friend and he will be lodging a complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell on Monday.
Celebrities or influential figures are new to such activities. Every now and then fake accounts are created in the names of famous people to be used for various vested interests. This has made various popular social media platforms introduce the ‘blue tick’ sign next to a person’s name to prove that this is the official account and all others are fake.
The imposter of the fake account is sending vulgar messages from the account, notifying people that he requires casting and is deliberately attempting to exploit money from them, under the name of Rajkumar Rao.
A source told Zoom 4 India, “All of this transpired while he (Rao) was away from social media. Luckily, no one has lost money or been adversely affected. It is expected that the account will be pulled down by Facebook soon. Meanwhile, the officials of Cyber Crime Cell have been informed of it.”
Rao also wrote this on his social media account, “Guys, this is an imposter. I only have one account on FB which is a verified one. Be aware of such people. Usually actors have verified accounts. Don’t trust the ones who don’t.”
