This swing which is ‘at the end of the world’ in Ecuador requires guts – you actually can fall of and die!
Swing at the end of the world in Banos, Ecuador. However, this swing was never built with a purpose of tourist attraction. The real purpose of the swing was to keep an eye on the nearby active volcano.
Ecuadorian man named Carlos Sanchez built the La Casa Del Arbol, which in English means a Treehouse, to monitor the volcanic activities happening at the nearby Mt. Tungurahua.
After Sanchez successfully built the tree house, he made a long swing just on the right side of the tree house. Once you sit on the swing, you enjoy the scenic view of the mountains and a lot of adrenaline rush!
The location of the swing is 2600 meters above sea level. People from all parts of the world come and gaze at the beautiful mountains, with a terrific view of Mt. Tungurahua volcano. The fact is that swing hangs over a steep slope, if anyhow someone falls down – then the result is nothing but death. The fear of death does not stop people from doing adventures and many people swing here.
The people who swing experience a variety of emotions in one go. Ecuador’s Banos is located in the country’s wilderness, where anyone can get lost. There are many activities taking place here like hiking and trekking with wonderful views of the mountainous range.
Tourists who get here are advised to maintain a tight grip of the swing to prevent them from falling of and pay $1 as a token of appreciation.
Carlos is saving the lives of people by monitoring seismic activity through this station. He deserves applause.
