Ruskin Bond’s 84th Birthday: The Writer Who Soothes Our Souls

Ruskin Bond who lives in Mussoorie is an Indian author of British descent.  His popular fictional character ‘Rusky’ has won hearts across the globe and his novels continue to interest readers across all generations and nationalities. Rusky is a sixteen-year-old orphan Anglo-Indian boy who lives in Dehradun.

His novel, ‘The Room On The Roof’ is a semi-autobiographical one where we meet Rusky as the protagonist. Today, on his 84th birthday, we revisit the beautiful works that made him the writer he is today.

Bond has been honoured with the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Sahitya Akademi Awards.
