The “Silent Performer” Of Bollywood: Vicky Kaushal Was Once An Engineer


Vicky Kaushal is called as the ‘Silent Performer’ of the Bollywood industry after the Forbes magazine named him that. He has whatever it takes to take the movie forward with his engaging acting skills. He has been doing various kinds of roles and winning hearts in all of it.

His latest movie with director Anurag Kashyap who is for the first time directed a movie on the genre of ‘Love’, ‘Manmarziyaan’. Vicky is playing the role of a carefree Punjabi boy, Vicky Sandhu, who cannot deal with the complexities of a relationship which has commitment as the goal. He runs away from commitment. The movie also stars Tapsee Pannu who will be his love interest in the movie. The third character is of Abhishek Bachchan who plays the role of a simple Punjabi boy with a turban. The movie revolves around the life of these three characters. Manmarziyaan is a love triangle where it is evident in the trailer that Kaushal is in love with Tapsee, she loves Kaushal but due to commitment issues her family arranges her marriage with Abhishek Bachchan who falls for her.  Manmarziyaan is a modern day love story revolving around today’s generation and how they have changed the perception of love, and people have made it complex.

Vicky Kaushal is the newest promising talent of the Bollywood industry. He has won a debut award for ‘Masaan’ where he played the role of a cop who is a psycho and a drug addict in Kashyap’s ‘Raman Raghav 2:0’. Nawazuddin Siddiqui also had a lead role in the movie but Vicky’s acting was not sidelined because of his powerful performance. He played an army officer in ‘Raazi’, paired opposite Alia Bhatt. He won hearts in director Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’ where he plays the best of Sanjay Dutt portrayed on screen by ‘Ranbir Kapoor’. He is a methodological actor because he belongs to the theatre background and has done plays with actors like ‘Naseeuddin Shah’ and ‘Manav Kaul’.

His struggle was not easy by profession he was an engineer but then entered the films and now he has bagged a role in Karan Johar’s ‘Takht’ wherein he plays the role of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Jhanvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar also star in this movie which releases next year.
