We know the names of the films our favourite stars debuted with in Bollywood. But the story could have been different had they accepted the roles that were offered to them before their debut movie.
Replacement of roles in B-town is a very hectic work. The director finds it very hard to recast after a cast is finalized and then suddenly the artist turns down the role. The rumours revolving around the film, star cast sometimes are true. These things also many times do not make the news, casting it aside as ‘speculations’.
This is the real story of the actors/actress in relation to their debuts:
1) Diana Penty:
She made her debut in Homi Adajania’s ‘Cocktail’ alongside Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan, which was a super hit and it struck the right chords to connect with the audience.
But, apparently Diana was supposed to play the female lead in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor but this never happened as she had other work commitments, and the role went to Nargis Fakhri.
2) Bipasha Basu:
Actor turned producer, Vinod Khanna was keen to cast actress Bipasha Basu opposite actor Akshaye Khanna for their debut. But Basu turned down the role as she felt that she was very young and this was not the right time to enter the industry. Eventually, the role went to ‘Anjala Zaveri’. Later in 2001, Basu made her debut in Abbas Mustan’s ‘Ajnabee’ alongside Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Bobby Deol.

But she wanted to be loyal to the Bollywood industry and made her debut in ‘Andaaz’ in 2003 opposite Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra.
5) Aishwarya Rai Bachchan:
This is very unbelievable that Bollywood’s highly talented actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was offered the role in ‘Raja Hindustani’ opposite the perfectionist, Aamir Khan but she declined the role. The movie was a successful hit but the role had gone to Karishma Kapoor. In the year of 1999, Aishwarya made her debut in ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ opposite Akshaye Khanna.

Everyone knows this actor made his debut in ‘Ishq Vishq’ which proved to be very successful for him. Kapoor was offered the role of ‘3 idiots’ actor ‘Sharman Joshi’ in ‘Style’ which he refused to do.

Priyanka made her debut in the industry opposite, Sunny Deol in ‘Hero: Love Story Of A Spy’.
8) Tiger Shroff:
The actor who is famous for his groovy dance moves and high octane action stunts was to make his debut with 1980’s super hit movie, Hero’s remake.
