These Actors Slashed Their Fees For These Movies

Bollywood actors fee always increases after they deliver blockbuster movies as with each and every hit movie the demand for them increases. But here are some of the Bollywood actors who reduced or nearly slashed off their fees for these particular projects with a simple reason that they wanted to be part of it.

They lowered their fees as they saw the potential in the script and the project, which will establish their name more. But this happens very rarely but the sure thing is that it does happen in Bollywood.

These actors slashed off their fees for these movies:

1) Saif Ali Khan in Rangoon:

Saif Ali Khan’s Nawabi charm was not working in films like ‘Humshakals’ and ‘Happy Ending’ for a year or two he was also away from films. Saif and Rangoon’s director Vishal Bhardwaj have worked along for ‘Omkara’ which was a critical and commercial success as well. Saif Ali Khan slashed off his fee for ‘Rangoon’ for the simple reason to be in it so it could revive his career back, as per some reports. Rangoon also starred Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut, but despite a strong star cast, it was a disaster at the box office.

2) Emraan Hashmi for Azhar:

Emraan Hashmi played the role of cricketer ‘Mohammed Azhar’ in the biopic ‘Azhar’, he was going to charge Rs 11 crore for the film but charged on Rs 3 crore as the project was special for him.

3) Akshay Kumar for Airlift:

Akshay Kumar’s per film charge is known to everyone, but for director Raja Krishna Menon’s ‘Airlift’ he charged only half of his fee. Nobody yet clearly knows why Kumar would do such a thing. Airlift won so many awards, it was a success at the box office, and his acting was praised.

4) Kareena Kapoor for Udta Punjab:

Kareena Kapoor was the most perfect choice for ‘Udta Punjab’. The actress thought that the makers of the movie could not afford her fee so she as a humble gesture slashed off her fee for this project. This also in return revived her career which was off track as the movie dealt with a theme of ‘drugs in Punjab’ which is the highest in terms of consumption and sales in India.

5) Alia Bhatt for Udta Punjab:

She was the first female lead in the movie, she carries the movie on her shoulders. Bhatt plays the drugged victim in the movie and her acting won her awards. Alia reduced her fee for this particular project because she wanted to be a part of it as she loved this realistic script.

6) Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Bajrangi Bhaijaan:

People in the industry want to work with Salman Khan, same went for Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He had previously worked with Khan in ‘Kick’, Salman even told Nawaz to increase his fee. But after reading the script of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ Nawazuddin slashed off his fee just be on the project and work with Salman Khan.

7) Amitabh Bachchan for Piku:

Amitabh Bachchan was very upfront on revealing this, “It says two things – one that she (Padukone) is obviously more important than me; and two, I have lost my price tag because I have been working for so long. Maybe I am not so important now.”

Deepika Padukone was paid more than Bachchan for this project.

8) Ranveer Singh for Bajirao Mastani:

Actresses Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone charged their regular fee for this project. It was Ranveer Singh who wanted to be on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s project realizing the potential of the role and script, he willingly took a pay cut.

9) Sonam Kapoor for Veere Di Wedding:

Sonam Kapoor has reduced her fee for this project as it is produced by her sister ‘Rhea Kapoor’ also starring Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania which released on June 1st, 2018. This movie is very special and dear to Sonam Kapoor which is the reason why she slashed her fee.

10) Shraddha Kapoor for Saaho:

This year’s second costliest project in India, it stars the ‘Baahubali’ fame Prabhas in the male lead for this science-fiction movie. Shraddha happily reduced her fees just to be in the project and star opposite Prabhas.
