There have been plenty of cases lodged against Bollywood celebrities. While we hear a lot about actors who are facing trial, we do not hear much about actresses.
These actresses have had charges filed against them:
Her name is enough to remember her. This beautiful actress was responsible for violating ethics by not acting in a film in 1957 after agreeing at first. She had even accepted the advance payment but later on, after denying to do the movie, she was arrested, according to the Indian director Baldev Raj Chopra.
2) Shweta Basu Prasad:
Have you seen, Shreyas Talpade and Naseeruddin Shah’s ‘Iqbal’, that released in 2005? Do you remember Talpade’s sister with the spectacles? That was Shweta Basu Prasad. This 27-year-old actress who has not even got settled with her career was arrested in Bangalore city as she was involved in a high profile prostitution racket. According to the reports, the detainee, Shweta Basu Prasad was kept in the remand home till the court did not grant her complete freedom.
3) Monica Bedi:
She got into the limelight when she came in the reality show Big Boss. But her reality has been exclusively different from other actresses as she was caught by the Lisbon Police with her beau who was the most dreaded underworld gangster, Abu Salem. The duo was entering Portugal with fake documents, and then they were extradited to India. Monica Bedi has served her prison term because of these heavy charges against her.
4) Sonali Bendre:
Sometimes it is highly unbelievable that actresses like Sonali Bendre who have not even been in the news since so many years, had a short career, no controversial life, did good roles had faced criminal charges.
The reason is shocking as to why this actress was behind the bars as she was a victim of religious issues. Bendre was arrested by the police on the grounds that she was posing inappropriately for a magazine cover, as the pose was disturbing for some religious people so they filed a complaint. Later on, Sonali got bail and support from the industry but some continue to believe that she hurt the ‘religious sentiments’ of a certain group of people.
