Just after that, this was the time when Sanjay started consumption of drugs and also spent 5 months in jail. Right after that, he flew to a rehabilitation centre in Texas, USA.

2) 1985 to 93:

After returning back to India the actor married Richa Sharma in ’87 and the duo was blessed with a baby girl, Trishala in 88. Sanjay Dutt has always been back with a bang whenever he disappears from the industry, this time it was with ‘Vidhaata’ which eventually turned out to be the highest grossing film of that year.

This was one of the most prominent years in the ‘Vaastav’ actor’s life as when the blasts happened in 1993 in Mumbai, he was arrested for the illegal possessions of arms, accepting its delivery from the gangsters who orchestrate the attack.

3) 1995 to 98:

Sanjay Dutt was arrested then granted bail in the year of 1995. But this time he did not come up with a bang in the B-town, as it was an era of the commercial atmosphere in his career.

4) 2000 to 02:

After coming out of jail this was the first time that after the actor who had won so many awards for his career-best performance in director Mahesh Manjrekhar’s ‘Vaastav’, won a few more. The most loved and critically acclaimed performances by Dutt were in the movies like ‘Mission Kashmir’, ‘Baaghi’ and ‘Kaante’.

Sanjay Dutt in 2003 had for the very first time evolved another side of his – comedy. One of his best performances was in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S’ in 2003. This movie won him an award for the best comedian of that year.

The actor also for the first time followed his father footsteps by entering into politics and got a ticket in Samajwadi Party. The Supreme Court cancelled the actor’s candidature due to his involvement in the Mumbai blasts case.

In 2006 the actor also gave another mind-blowing performance in the second part, ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ which increased his popularity. In 2007, he was sentenced to 6 years in jail on the last day of the trial in the 1993 blasts case. The next year he married for the third time to ‘Manyata’.

6) 2010 to 16:

After his 2 years of marriage, the actor was blessed with twins, a baby boy and a baby girl.
