We are living in a time when most of us look for reasons to escape from our duties. We constantly give excuses for not doing our work. But at this time too there are some who are doing their jobs against all odds.
While Mumbai’s traffic cops might be infamous for a lot of things, this thing done by a traffic cop has inspired many. This traffic cop stood undeterred and did his job even when it was pouring heavily. He had no raincoat on.
A citizen named Satyam Yadav was on his way to Kandivali East Station when he stopped under a subway to take shelter from the rain. That is when he noticed the traffic cop doing his job standing in the middle of an intersection of Akurli Road and managing traffic. He took a video and it went viral over the internet.
The constable in the video is Nandkumar Ingle, a 47-year-old traffic cop from the Dahisar division. He told TOI, “Vehicular traffic was increasing, and I couldn’t afford to waste a single minute. From 7 pm till 11 pm, I was at that spot clearing traffic; I don’t even know when this clip was captured. “
Ingle comes from a farmer family and works with the Mumbai police since the last 23 years. His efforts have been applauded by millions of people on the internet and offline.
Ingle also told the newspaper that he had a raincoat and an umbrella with him but that would require him leaving his position and he decided not to do so.
Here is the video that has more than 1.7million views so far:
