Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the best things that has happened to the Bollywood industry. His acting, confidence, his love for the movies, the intense roles, the way he indulges in his characters make the roles he plays supremely engaging. Only a few of the actors can do it; it is an art he knows well.
His first role in Bollywood was in Aamir Khan’s superhit drama ‘Sarfarosh’ in 1999. It was a very small 40-second role. He was then seen in Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Shool’ and ‘Jungle’ also playing a role in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Munnabhai MBBS’.

Shining in ‘Sacred Games’ fame, Siddiqui was born on 19th May 1974, in Uttar Pradesh’s Budhana district, in a very small town. He belongs to the Zamindari family of Numberdars. Nawaz is the eldest of the 8 siblings.
Nawaz graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from a university in Haridwar, then worked as a chemist for a year in Vadodara. His passion for taking admission in the National School of Drama was enormous. He acted in 10 plays with a group of friends just to fulfil the criteria for getting the admission. Subsequently, he procured the admission through his hard work.
Siddiqui lives with his wife Anjali, they have a daughter Shora and recently they were blessed with a son on his 41st birthday.
From 2009, Nawaz got the recognition of an actor. It all started with Kabir Khan’s ‘New York’ where he plays the small but an intense role of a Muslim who is wrongly accused of terrorism. Anusha Rizvi’s ‘Peepli Live’ – where he plays the role of a journalist, gave him more fame. Then in Prashant Bhargava’s ‘Patang’ in 2012, he played a role which transformed his acting style. Again in ‘Kahaani’, in 2012 he played a short-tempered intelligence officer where he received appreciation for his acting. After playing the role of ‘Faisal Khan’ in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur Part 1 and 2 – his career took off, which won him several awards.
Then it was ‘Kick’, ‘Badlapur’, ‘Manjhi – the mountain man’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ and ‘Raees’ where his roles have made an impact on the audiences – these movies have been a backbone for Nawaz to achieve fame and success.
There have been many rumours of his affair with ‘Miss Lovely’ co-star Niharika Singh which was published in his memoir ‘An Ordinary Life’ which raised controversy. The book was withdrawn later when a complaint was filed by Singh’s lawyer.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to gear up with a dynamic role which he is playing in ‘Thackeray’ where he plays the role of Balasaheb Thackeray. This role can make him win lots of accolades. The movie is set to release in January 2019.
