Ajay Devgn is one of the most experienced and dynamic actors we have today. His tenure in the industry has been more than 20 years with so many films impressing the audience. Recently his performance in ‘Raid’ has garnered him lots of praise, despite the film having a commercial angle.
Recently the ‘Gangajal’ actor announced on social media that he will be doing the role of a legendary football coach. ‘Syed Abdul Rahim’ who was the football coach and the manager of the Indian team from 1950 to 1963. Many people today wouldn’t be knowing the unsung hero and his contributions in the 1962 Asian Games in, Jakarta, Indonesia.
The movie is all about the coach and the situation of football in those years. ZEE studios and Boney Kapoor will be collaborating on this project. The aim of the film is to provide a realistic stance on the current situation of football in India, and how it will change the outlook in the coming years. People in India are inclining more towards this sport, which in return is getting madder, the Indian team playing the ‘Football World Cup’ would be the best thing for the people in near future.
Speaking of the director, it will be directed by ‘Amit Sharma’, who had previously directed ‘Tevar’ which starred, Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha.
We have seen Devgn playing different types of roles sometimes a police or army officer, a goon, a romantic hero, a smart family man etc. but this is surely going to be something different. He is stepping out of his comfort zone by playing the role of, ‘Chanakya’ on screen.
Chanakya was a well-versed and known political adviser and a philosopher whose teachings are followed by a lot of people today. The film has been made official by the director himself, Neeraj Pandey. Both of them will be working together for the first time, and Pandey is known for delivering thriller movies, this one will be out of his genre.
Recently, Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaari’ failed to deliver but the idea behind the movie was good, but the story was very much haywire. Devgn is currently shooting for ‘Total Dhamaal’ which will be hitting the theatres on 7th December.
