Hikkim, in Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul Spiti is the World’s Highest Polling Station. It also holds a world record for the same in Limca Book Of Records.
Hikkim, is located at 15,000 feet and is near to Kaza, which is soon becoming a popular tourist destination. It will be surprising for you to know that this region remains cut-off from the rest of the world for half the year!

This year, as Himachal Pradesh votes for its state elections, Hikkim had a 83.5% voter turnout. It has maintained a high voter turnout – it being 83% in 2007 and 84% in 2012.
The region, that deserves international attention suffers from various issues, major being electricity and lack of proper health facilities. However, the former has been solved by the installation of solar panels three years ago, according to Hindustan Times.
